Sa création :
Le 29 décembre 1993 (ancien S.I.V.O.M). Elle regroupe 10 communes pour 6078 habitants et environ 21 774 hectares (soit 28 habitants au km²).
Depuis le 01 janvier 2017, la communauté de communes de BOURBRIAC a fusionné avec 6 autres EPCI pour devenir la communauté d’agglomération
